She did show her expired driver's license and expired passport, though, at the security checkpoint.
Expired drivers licences and passports are still OK for TSA purposes.
Unfortunately, my mother in law suffers from a loss of mental acuity as well as her vision. Not sure how well she would answer TSA interrogators!
