Well, in my case I don't seem to use the AS FF mileage plan miles I earn every year. My account goes up a bit every year.
If I use one of my enrolled AMEX cards to purchase some AS flights, I'll add to my Membership Rewards account. At least I can use my Membership Rewards points to get some Morton's and Lettuce Entertain you dining cards (Joe's Prime Steak, Seafood and Stone Crab here I come...)
