Just back from a week in STUNNING Turin. What a wonderful, genuine Italian city. Didn't see one visible American or English tourist all week. Stayed at the Best Western Genova near the Stazione Nuovo which i highly recommend for it's location, service and value (try for a room on 2nd floor--20 foot frescoed ceiling and a balcony over the bathroom area). Around the corner is Ristorante Marcello - very authentic, delicious food at incredibly reasonable prices (a whole grilled fish 12e). Reservations necessary (Corso Stati Uniti 4,, 011. 530 854. Closed Saturday night.) Can't wait to return to Torino, Hotel Genova and Marcello's. Lots to do but if you're in Italy for shopping, head to Milan. Styles and quality are 20 years behind.
