I am considering switching out of Star-Alliance but needed the additional luggage weight.

If a status match is possible, I would love to fly with EK as TG, SQ, LH and TK are asking for too much money these days from MUC. It seems like it is a cartel here.

As for EK, if you can go in F for the same price as SQ C, then give it a shot. But at the same time AMS is one of few routes where you get the old SQ seats (which although similar are still better than current LH C on say the 744). But if you were to fly in new SQ C on the 77W then keep in mind that on SQ you get 4 seats across in a row, whereas on EK on the same metal they squeeze in... 7.
It is actually faster to fly through Dubai, only 1 hour but still...
I will never ever again sit for 24 hours in a spacebed for €4800 return! That is not cool...
And yes the seats will be 7 in a row but the seat is much better and that is what counts.

If the new SQ C would be flying on the AMS-SIN-(A330-300)BNE route I would again fly with SQ.

But unfortunately that is not (yet) the case, maybe next year.
