My experience with AA is it now takes about a week for my miles to post. Sometimes a couple of days more if the charge is late in posting to your credit card. AA used to do it once a month, but now they post more frequently.
If you qualify for a survey on OpinionPlace.com, I find there that my miles post in about two business days.
