This happened to me a couple of months back in Vijaywada. Security told me I had 9 cells & I had to remove them, at first I had no idea what she was referring to. She delved into my bag & produced my batteries, my lights finally came on so I also kept my re-chargeable ones & let her have the others.

I have since gone through the same security with batteries & nothing has been said.
