Just arrived back from a 10 day break in Syria and Jordan (flew BD), on entering AMM this morning we had our luggage scanned, the security guy pulled out a pack of 4 unused AA batteries and said I can't take them through, but gave me 2 back.
Later just before the gate we went through another round of screening, this time the security guy found 10 more AA batteries, 4 of which were rechargeable, I didn't want to give those away... but he said maximum 4 .. so I took took the rechargeable ones away.
This is the first time I've ever been pulled up on batteries. Also they completely ignored my 1 litre of water I had in my backpack....
Note: the reason I had so many, AA's they were for my GPS, the 6 non-rechargeable were bought in supermarket in Amman, as I was using my handheld GPS for road navigation.
