I used to be in your camp LHR BA lounge over AC. However, I recently did both on a return and was stunned when the AC food, drinks, and ambiance was TONS better. I was actually impressed with the AC food choices, while BA had the standard pasta dishes. And, more importantly, the AC had much better seating and space than BA (which was packed).

I also walked through the shower area which seemed pretty standard/good. It is split between AC and F lounge. There is a lock on the F door, but the shower attendant opened it for me.

Count this (and I can't believe it) as a vote for the AC at LHR T3 over the BA lounge.
