Until recently, few of us had the opportunity to use Haneda airport; though it was built in the 1930s, until new runway and international terminal facilities were constructed, it has languished (in longhaul international travel) since the opening of Narita / NRT.
But now, some airlines have shifted or added flights:
- Japan Airlines: San Francisco, Honolulu
- American Airlines: New York-JFK
- Delta Air Lines: Detroit, Los Angeles
- Hawaiian Airlines: Honolulu
- All Nippon Airways: Honolulu, Los Angeles
and there seems to be a paucity of information for travelers using the new International Terminal - even Haneda's websites emphasize Terminal 1 "Big Bird" and Terminal 2 .
Haneda Airport has three terminals. The main terminals, 1 and 2, are connected by an underground walkway; a free shuttle bus runs between the main terminals and the smaller International Terminal every five minutes, if the information I have found is correct.
Terminal 2 has the Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu, and there is convenient transport to the city from T1 and T2 (monorail, etc.)

How easy is it to get around? I am looking at arriving 22:30 / 10:30 PM from SFO, and departing the next morning at 10:00 (AM) to MNL, and would like to overnight at the Haneda Excel Tokyu. Will I be able to to accomplish this reasonably?
Any further ideas? Tith the new (October 2010) international terminal opening, more of us are going to be using this - maybe we can add information here as we experience the "new" Haneda (I used the "old" HND in the 196os).
