I would say it is a normal behavior for KLM They were trying to refuse access when I was flying with LO to WAW (I hold a Star Gold card and KLM handles LO in AMS). Fortunately, I had a printout from www.lot.com clearly stating that Star Gold members could access KLM Crown Lounge and they finally ley me in.
