Denied lounge access with gold card

Wasn't sure where to post this as it covers mutiple airlines / lounges but ultimately decided to post here as I was trying to enter a lounge with my BA gold card.

Flew economy from Amsterdam to Budapest with Malev last week, and was advised by the check in staff that Malev uses the KL Crown Lounge, and not the Menzies lounge that Finnair and Iberia use. I assume this is due to the (soon to expire) KL codeshare, despite the fact that Malev is part of Oneworld not Skyteam.

Needless to say the staff at the Crown Lounge staff were having none of it. They were rude, aggressive and belligerent (as a Dutchman it was excessive even by Dutch standards) and told me that there was no way I could enter the lounge. Producing my Flying Blue gold card as an alternative didn't change their tone either. I referred the head lounge assistant to the oneworld website but she said she was too busy and walked away while I was talking to her.

Shocking behavior.

Absence of customer service by KL groundstaff isn't news however. Rather, I'm hoping some of you can shed some light on the actual situation, namely: which Schengen area lounge was I actually entitled to use at Schiphol?
