Oh yes, Vienna has some wonderful things to see: St Stephen's Cathedral (Stefansdom), the Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper), St Charles' Church (Karlskirche), the Schonbrunn Palace (Schloss Schonbrunn), the Belvedere Palace, the Hofburg, the Majolika Haus, the Hundertwasser Haus – this is just a few off the top of my head. Not to mention the beautiful Viennese Woods (Wienerwald) and the pretty town (or outer suburb) of Grinzing. Or you can take river cruise to somewhere like Melk. Or you can just watch your waistline expand as you sit in the coffee houses drinking hot chocolate or Viennese coffee and eating Sachertorte! It's a great place to visit.
However, if you have your heart set on Paris, I'm not sure that you should let a few strikers put you off...
