Where I work you'd get a rather large bollocking, possibly even dismissal, if you did anything as stupid as that.
a lot of people might actually....i have a junior lawyer in the firm who often travels with his boss....he carries his bosses laptop, his own work laptop & his personal laptop whenever he travels with his boss....he usually ends up checking in one or two of them....
