Does AA allocate less seats to discount classes during the holidays?
I was checking on a possible quick trip to JFK from EZE on Jan 8 ret Jan 12th. The lowest fare came up at a heart stoppng $2600. Sure the flights are pretty full based on the unreliable seat map function but in similar situations in the past with the seat map at about the same level, I've always obtained sub 1000 fares.
So I checked our new availability tool friend and sure enough all 0's except Y class which is showing 7 (and my bet has at least 20 tickets to sell). So my question, does AA (and I suppose other airlines)change the allocation during high demand by allocating less to the discount buckets to make more people buy full Y?
