Water+snack is standard for anybody signed up for HH at HI's in my experience.
I'm set to points since I don't want the extra Calories. I still get the water and snack.
But I think you might be correct. When I first set my My Way prefs the first option for each brand was the default. And the first option is generally space available upgrade or drink/snack at the no upgrade chains.
