We had a great stay here about a month ago. We were here for three nights total, two paid (AAA Breakfast rate) and one on points. I applied a Diamond suite upgrade to the paid nights, and the hotel allowed us to stay in the same room -- a Park Suite -- for the free night, as well. The free night was at the beginning of the reservation, so this was especially welcome.

The hotel was very generous about comping breakfast. We ate no breakfast the first morning, which was the morning following the free night. The second and third mornings, however, we ordered room service breakfast. (We were told the cutoff to get free breakfast as a Diamond is 12:00 noon.) The second morning, the room service bill was somewhat high, as we had friends over. Accordingly, I expected only a portion of the second day's bill to be comped. On check out, this was exactly what had happened -- the charge was reduced by some amount. The third morning's breakfast, however, which should have been fully comped, was on the hotel bill in full, because it had mistakenly been coded as lunch instead of breakfast. I brought this to the desk agent's attention, who promptly had it removed. But the real surprise was that she also erased the second morning's breakfast charge as well. Maybe this was because she saw we didn't eat any breakfast the first morning, so we had credits to "spare," or similarly because we were on a AAA Breakfast rate that morning so we had "double benefits" with Diamond, or she was just being nice; I have no idea. But it was most welcome. Also, Costco certs were accepted without any problem.

The hotel itself was fantastic. The Park Suite is a great room. Huge. I also love the hotel's West End neighborhood. It's a little far from the Metro, but we knew that going in. We also had tea & buffet table at the Tea Cellar Saturday afternoon, which was really fun.
