My hotel reservation can be cancelled until 4pm on the day of arrival so I will stick to it till tomorrow and see what's new and then perhaps find another hotel instead (I wrote Hilton also and asked if they were flood-prone, but got no reply yet).

I might go for the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit which seems to be further away from the river and flood-prone areas.
