If you are traveling as a couple, which pair of Envoy Suite seats is best for conversing?

a) across the aisle (A-D)?
b) center (D-F)?
c) front-back (A-A)?

I love the window seats for solo travel but I'm doing PHL-CUN w/ Mrs. PittDoc. While "b" seems like the logical choice, on my recent PHL-LHR flight a married couple seated in the center (D-F) were upset because then couldn't easily talk to each other. The seats face away from the center toward the aisle, unlike the diagram on SeatGuru.

Yes, I know there are other threads about the Envoy Suites but I didn't find any comments about traveling as a couple. I am afraid this question wouldn't get enough traffic and my flight is tomorrow.
