First of all, there are enough movies in Netflix's instant option that I have 175 movies in my instant queue. True, they don't have the blockbusters with numbered sequels, but I never watch those anyway. Their selection of documentaries, foreign films, classics, and TV shows is enough to keep me busy for years.

However, streaming does not work outside the U.S.

Second if you're traveling, you may want to download some movies and TV shows from iTunes and put them on your computer or mobile device, or just take a few DVDs along. (They're flat, right?)

Another possibility is certain websites like casttv, which, amazingly, makes a few British TV programs available to U.S. viewers. I found out about it on a discussion board for people teaching English overseas.
