I flew Starclass from Sydney to Honolulu in July. Have to say the service was superb, I walked off that flight thinking that Qantas staff could learn a thing or two from the staff I encountered on that flight.

I have not been a big fan of the Jetstar model, however flew with them in economy from Darwin to Ho Chi Minh last year. There was an extremely difficult passenger to deal with (resulted in the plane being met by 3 AFP officers) and I would have to give them kudos with the handling of the situation.

I can't say that I can remember the last time I was blown away by any Qantas service, either on the ground or in the air, which is why we have shifted the majority of our business elsewhere.
