Sorry, but you're exaggerating. The system isn't perfect but the stability has improved tremendously over time. I've flown 89 segments on AC this year and not once has the system failed entirely - a few full system resets have been done, and a couple times I've had to ask for resets of my screen, but overall the reliability of the system has been great for me. And all fleet types except some of the Embraers now have maps.

In fact, three of the earliest 777s that had an older system are being upgraded over the next 6 weeks to have the latest IFE system installed. AC has spent a lot of time and energy to ensure the system works well.
