You misquoted what I said. I said if everyone could buy a discount economy fare, and upgrade cheaper in advance than buying a Starclass fare outright, no-one would buy Starclass up front.
I've bought a number of Starclass fares, at full cost, because they are so cheap anyway, and I'm not playing the ODU lottery at check-in.
