IMhO, I read it more of the GA was attempting to deny the benefits that a GM is alloted (complimantary gate check, stroler check, etc.) and doing it in a pretty unprofessional way (yelling etc.)... So they were not soliciting anything special, and the 1K was calling the bluff (as someone who flies frequently, and knows the rules).

jan_az how did you get the gate pass, full Y refundable? (FWIW, I have requested gate passes as MBS, DTW, LAN, LAS, CLT and MCO and was given one each time to accompany
