Interlining between two tickets on same carrier
This is a bit complicated but I'd be grateful if you'd read through my post - sorry if it could be explained more concisely - and help me find a way through.
My son is working for an NGO in Africa and has home leave at New Year. He is trying to book a ticket from Kigali (Rwanda) to Strasbourg (France) using KLM and Air France who are both in the same cartel.
He is unable to make a full booking through and can only do KIG-CDG (via AMS) on one ticket and has to make a separate booking from CDG to SXB requiring a second ticket.
For his return, he has two make two separate bookings, one from SXB to CDG and the other from CDG to KIG (via AMS AND NBO).
If he has tickets for both parts of, say, his outward journey, can he benefit from interlining at CDG ... ie have his baggage ticketed through directly from KIG to SXB, without having to clear customs and immigration at CDG and also benefit from changing flights within the minimum connecting interval. The tickets from KIG to CDG are with KLM and from CDG to SXB with AF.
The return flight follows a similar pattern - SXB to CDG with AF and then CDG to KIG (via AMS and NBO) with KLM.
Can he check his luggage in at Strasbourg through to Kigali, and then just connect without clearing customs and immigration at AMS and NBO?
Sorry it's a bit complicated, but any help would be much appreciated.
The actual flights he hopes to get are:-
Outward
(Ticket 1)
KL 0564 Dep KIG 22H30 arr AMS 08H30 (+1)
KL 2003 Dep AMS 09H30 arr CDG 10H45
(Ticket 2)
AF 7762 Dep CDG 12H45 arr SXB 13H50
Return
(Ticket 2)

(Ticket 1)
KL 2022 Dep CDG 18H25 arr AMS 19H40
KL4141 Dep AMS 20H40 arr NBO 07H00 (+1)
KL 4180 NBO 08H10 arr KIG 10H30
VERY many thanks in advance for your help... I'm quite frankly going batty with all this ... and it has to be sorted out quickly because when he's away from the NGO office there is no communication possible at all and he's away for 3 weeks starting on Friday ... but only skyped me this evening to tell me the flight details and his schedule. VERY MANY THANKS.
