51 is not one of Taj's best, and they are the first to admit it. However the service is very good and they do a great organic breakfast. It's a good place for long stays as the rooms/suites have proper equipped kitchens. The hotel is more of a bunch of apartments with hotel services, situated in a lovely quiet courtyard near Buckingham Palace. The two main buildings are decorated in different styles - one traditional and the other contemporary. Think it's the King's Building that's best. Beds are a bit hard, but it's not a bad choice.
Much better are Covent Garden Hotel, Charlotte Street Hotel and Soho Hotel.
