Streaming outside the US is not hard at all. You can get a free VPN (Anchor Hot Spot is what I use), which makes it think you're in the USA. Doesn't work for Hulu when I've tried, but is fine for Netflix.

I've been in China, with virtually no English channels, and it's been a nice distraction. It can be a little slow sometimes, but still not horrid.

I also use it to watch other US shows (Amazing Race from CBS) that are blocked outside the US.

I purchased a Netflix membership for a family member for the 1500 points, and set up a PO box address, and then canceled as soon as the points posted.

If you don't use Netflix much, you can also freeze the account. So if you want to watch for a few days, but then not for another month or so, you can freeze it, and that way only pay it for the days you use.
