I know that Ft. Lauderdale also had this type of operation carried out in the backrooms of some bars and in some parks. My personal experience in PS since 1980 is that I have not had any negative encounters with the police. Given the number of gay's serving in some capacity in the city government or in some advisory capacity, I don't think PS is hostile to the gay population. And I would prefer living in a place where the gay community can raise its voice and make a change in attitudes when necessary. I will check with friends in PS to see if there is an update to the story.

I do not believe I'd be the type of guy to be targeted, since I'm in a relationship and confine my sexual activities to the bedroom (either in my own home or in a hotel room). So maybe my perceptions are limited and/or biased.
