All things equal, people will almost always choose the front of the plane. From what I've seen, GAs will also seat people from front to back when the aisle/window seats are all gone.

(Memories... I remember my first "solo" flight when I was 15, my mom told me to ask for a seat at the front of the plane b/c it's quieter.)
