I got Elite simply because of a few trips to Asia, lounges is likely what I'll value the most and for the first one it isn't too bad. Next time towards SIN it should be useful too!
The access rules are pretty clear.... access for *G/AC-E/AC-SE only if flying with Air Canada... can't really fault the lounge agent here.
