Be careful about assumptions, even if they appear logical at the time. You really don't know if the four received comp upgrades or not.
I've seen very few complaints over the years about AA not following upgrade protocols. Mistakes and short-cuts happen on occasion. But IMO, it's nothing like the kind of upgrade "shenanigans" that are frequently complained about on the DL board.
