I wonder whether the purser from London was based in CDG and of Indian descent. We had a similar treatment by him a year ago in Y, together with two complimentary champagne flutes from F (obviously no flutes in C!). Which is all a very nice touch, but is not typical and not to be expected. As 1Ks you get all those drink coupons anyway.

I can see how it is hard to know what to expect when maybe not flying that often and living in the UK. But as already mentioned 1Ks board first. If a gate agent tells you to wait, maybe he did not notice the 1K designation. If pointing that out you'd not be allowed to board still, better complain to 1kvoice.
