Post Air France's policy on short layovers

We will be coming through CDG on a AF flight and have a 5 to 6 hour layover and were wondering with the strikes going on, what Air France is saying about passengers leaving the airport to take a short view of the Eiffel Tower/Paris.

How long does this take to do and how much of an issue will it be for us to check back in at CDG for our Delta flight out of France home?

Appreciate the boards thoughts on the matter and if it isnt wise to leave CDG, what can we do to pass the time and what are must buys at the duty free shop?
