Yeah, probably I'm not really keen to stay at the Hilton anyway. The Trump seems to have a great view off the strip which I find attractive for NYE. However, I'm not too sure about the rooms. They seem to have marble floors which I'm not a real big fan of in winter. Also, it appears they charge for parking $18/day which many of the "old luxury" hotels such as Bellagio/Venetian/Mandalay Bay do not. Can't understand why all the new hotels can get away with this.
I basically looking for a decent hotel room from where I can see the fireworks without freezing in the streets. If it has a great restaurant where I can spend the evening enjoying their set menu dinner until midnight it would certainly be my preference not to leave the hotel at all on that night. The smaller the restaurant the better (I really like Le Cirque at the Bellagio but as mentioned the room rate there is too high for what it is).
