It was not really thought through, that's not the only glitch, and was also done on the cheap.
The whole pay at these machines before one boards is a joke. Secondly, as many have pointed out the bus priority lane is not continuous, basically non existent where it is most needed on the upper east side, and on top of that it will get held up by the local as there is only one lane.
