Why would BA pre assign a family seats and split us up when they could have sat us all together?
It means either my 3yr old will be sitting in the 20F seat next to a stranger... not really that happy about that when we all want to go for a sleep, or she sits on the aisle seat 20G.. again if we all sleep and she wakes up she could wander off (not that she can go that far!)
It seems odd that whoever pre-assigns the seats would do this? (or is it automated? or a ploy to get me to pay at this stage to move us all together?
Hopefully those available seats will still be there at T-24 for me to choose.
Phone up BA - it is a contravention of their seating policy.

If you do not choose a seat, we will allocate you a suitable one 3 days before departure.
If the group cannot be seated together, each child will be seated with an adult at least.
The group can be seated together, so give a phone and quote that from ba.com.
