Sheraton Park Hotel & Towers, Chennai : Booked an award stay for 2 nights(I did mention Non-Smoking Room in the reservation). FD walked me to the room, upon entry to the floor, I asked if it was non-smoking room as mentioned in my reservation as it was smoking floor.He said no it was a smoking room, I reminded him that I have booked an non-smoking room and I will only take non-smoking room as I can't stand smoke. He asked me to see the room and maybe wait there until a new room is assigned. I refused to go inside. I was taken to the restaurant and provided with a complementary snacks and coffee. FD comes back after 10 minutes to take me to the new room. It was a 1000 sq.ft Luxury suite in the newly renovated tower with a complementary wine. From then on everything was a class apart & excellent customer service(Be it room service, butler or restaurant or laundry or spa)I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely stay again.
ITC Windsor, Bengaluru: Booked an executive club room and was given the same room. Asked if a club premiere or tower rooms are available. I was told every kind of rooms were available and it would cost extra $100/$120/$200.
Even though the rate included breakfast and evening Cocktails/hors D Oeuvres I was never told where those are located or if it was available during check-in.
Room was very basic. Breakfast was great but all other services were lousy.
1 hr before check-out and again 30 mins before check-out I gave a call to FD to remind them that I have a flight to catch and I need my check-out papers and hotel cab ready. When I actually went, nothing was ready and they were not even aware that I was going to check out(that's even after calling them twice). She took her time to prepare the bill and then I noticed that I was charged for Internet, she corrected and gave a new bill, then I handed out my credit card and I was given a CC receipt to sign, I noticed I was charged wrong amount. I asked her to correct (as it was already charged), she asked my CC again to refund the charge, by the time she calculated/corrected and settled everything it was already 45 mins and I was running late to catch a flight. Then I realized they did not arrange a hotel cab for me even though I let them know twice before checking out that I need a cab to the airport and it was charged to my card upon checkout. They needed to give some paper work for the cab, so another 5 mins was wasted there. As I did not factor in the extra 50 mins, I arrived late to the airport and was in a complete hurry to catch the flight and finally made it just in time. Overall I was not at all impressed with any of the service other than the breakfast and dinner service.
