It shouldn't... but the person at the DL gate (52B or something) was not very helpful... and didn't want to miss my connections...
Yeah, pretty much. I managed to miss standing by for an earlier flight in a similar fashion- plenty of time but the shuttle had really awful timing.

FWIW AA->AS seems to be a lot easier. The AA folks were cool with me only having my AA BP (LAS-LAX) and not my AS one (LAX-SEA).
