I am flying the JFK-LAS route on the last flight out on fri, and returning on the 2nd to last flight out on sunday.

Do I hope to be upgraded? Maybe, as I was earlier this year, am I holding my breath for me or us to be upgrade? No but its a nice perk to have just in case.
Btw, I was upgraded on the 737 which has a smaller "BE" cabin but no AVOD and the 757(on return). So there is always (slim) hope.

Anyhow, got issue resolved, both of us are on the "upgrade request" list.

What I am hoping for is to be able to VDB on both flights on sunday evening and fly out monday morning.

Thanks for all your help, everyone!
That sounds like a fun trip!!! As a silver the LAS routes are definitely good opportunities to be upgraded. Whenever I go to Vegas (especially on the later flights) with some buddies I have cleared as a Gold from MSP and ATL everytime and had my companion clear as well each time....which would mean as a silver you would have cleared too since companions clear after silvers Have fun!
