Officials from New York City's tourism board will also be in attendance, which is odd. So maybe something for JFK too, and hopefully it isn't a media conference announcing some sort of "tourism partnership."
But with NYC officials there, then we can probably rule out a "hey, look, the airport is finished" announcement.

Huh? How do you figure? The only direct flight now is an AS 738, 4x weekly (which has an AA codeshare flight number). If there were more demand, there'd be more service now. SEA is not a big OW connection hub, so that wouldn't help, either. Sorry, but I just don't see that the business is there.
AS has daily service on MIA-SEA. The market, at well over 300 PDEW, can easily support a second daily flight, even a third daily flight.
