FlightNurse, there are a few factors to consider WT vs WT+.
Firstly, if you buy a WT+ ticket from the outset, it would probably be more expensive than if get the 'special upgrade offer' of £135. However you would be certain of the seat, the upgrade offer is not certain.
However the main benefit (imo) of buying a ticket in WT+ is that you may be able to upgrade to J with miles.
If you are just considering whether to take up the upgrade offer, then there are a few factors to consider. Firstly, how much would you value the extra space, are you tall etc? Also, how much do you value the additional miles and TP's.
Before the recent change it made a lot of sense to upgrade to WT+ because you went from 25% of base miles to 125%, now the difference is only from 100% to 125%. So I don't think it is worth it for miles reasons.
If you are a frequent flyer and need TP's, there is still a decent increase 75 in WT+, compared to 30 in discount economy (although again, it used to be just 15, so the benefit of upgrade has been reduced).
