I wasn't advocating the Citi Amex-network card, just clarifying which card you hold. All of the Citi AAdvantage cards are interchangeable for mileage earning purposes ($1 = 1 mile), but there are some differences in the benefits provided by Amex-network, Mastercard and VISA.

For example, there is an indication that Citi has improved the CDW coverage bundled with some VISA cards:
