Honey, nearly 30 years ago BA got rid of F in Europe and with it those sort of seats as the cabin made no money. They adopted the Club cabin with a moveable divider and made it special by giving pretty much the sam style of service as they used to in F.

That meant that the cabin could change and nothing was wasted. It was the cleverest con trick going and it worked big time. Club was flexible Economy except to Paris. AF mimicked it immediately only they used the old F seats but that did not last long as Demand outstripped supply. In fact BA had Y passengers collect their meals and take them on board - that did not last long either!

Eventually LH and others adopted the system and they have tinkered with it ever since. Basically the cabin can be as big or as small as the market demands - they will never go back. If anything Club may go in Europe but that does not seem on the cards just at the moment.
