I wonder if not providing clean towels daily, not vacuuming the room, making everyone use the stairs instead of the lift, closing down the clubroom, and leaving a corncob next to the toilet in place of tp is more or less green than the alternative?

Sure. But that's not what we are paying for, and the same is true for the amenities of the clubroom.
