Forty Seven

I stayed at Forty Seven in Rome the weekend before last. Large well decorated room with a great terrace. Modern and not at all chintzy. Nice outside courtyard where breakfast was served and a rooftop bar/restaurant with good views. Great location near the Circus Maximus (I have to say that the Spanish Steps area where Portrait Suites and others are located was unbelievably crowded with tourists - I couldn't wait to get out). SOME of the staff were delightful and couldn't have been more helpful, whereas others were less suited to a luxury hotel. Overall a reasonable compromise in Rome (especially if you plan to be out most of the time). Good value for money for the size of the rooms and location. Not quite 5 star though.
