No matter how they may say it, those words are usually music to my ears. It means the flight is going to depart on time or finally get off the gate after a delay. They are really sweet music when the seat next to me is empty and therefore I will spend the flight with no seatmate (the best kind..

What I have never understood was the silly practice of one of the pilots saying "ladies and gentlemen please remain in your seat with your seatbelt fasten until the Captain turns off the seat belt sign".... along with of course telling FAs to disarm doors. But within a New York City second of the pilot telling paxs to remain seated the seat belt sign goes off.
