Just received this email from the property:
Greeting from Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa
We would like to inform you that there will be the big Wedding function during XXXXXXXX and XXXXXXXX in our hotel. There will be about 400 guests and they will be occupied in the restaurants and hotel facilities which might be disturb your peaceful holiday.
Reference to your profile strongly requested a quite room. Therefore we regretfully send this e-mail to inform you and if it is possible to postpone your arrival and departure date to another date as we would like to insure that your stay at Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa is perfect as always but we cannot guarantee this to you during the function.
On behalf of the Managements & Team, we would once again apologize on the inconvenience may cause you. Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know. We all expect to receive your kind correspondence at your most convenience.
I currently have an ocean view suite booked here. But if they're telling me this in advance I guess I can expect the hotel to be overrun and hardly peaceful and I need to cancel this stay, eh?
It be pretty foolish to go in spite of this warning, right?
Where oh where to go?
(1) As a Hyatt Diamond I suppose the Hyatt in Hya Hin is an option, but the property looks pretty tired. There's a club lounge but probably not that impressive.
(2) As an Intercontinental Royal Ambassador, there's an IC there, but benefits are pretty limited (no lounge, modest upgrade benefits).
Or I could go elsewhere in Thailand, I liked the idea of driving distance from BKK rather than another flight...
Thoughts, anyone?
