I was going to do the Twilight Express to the Sapporo Snow Festival, but ended up flying instead. I did get to ride the Ginga blue train right before they terminated that service though.

I can't speak for the seats, as that wasn't an option on Ginga. The couchette/lay-down bed was quite nice and comfortable though.
