Well I must add my shock to this discussion - flying out of YYZ today for SFO - the security was laughable ... no check of any of the cell phone, laptop, laptop batteries, CD player at all at the security check-point - however they were very quick to jump on the fact that my belt-buckle set of the alarm. My longest delay was waiting to get a baggage tag after using the kiosk as they only had two staff at the express desks ... such much for trying to be a good flyer and check my luggage... total time from arrival to lounge approx 25 minutes... after the obligatory shoe shine

However I would have rather had them check my bag and laptop (even had it powered on)... they were just not interested - sad - very sad IHMO.
