I'm shocked, too - I've never failed to see a QX employee (recognizable by the busy printed shirt) at the left side of the queues, checking BPs/cards, even at odd hours, other than quick bio breaks, where they seem to have their posts monitored by TSA employees, who may or may not let elites through. In my experience, it has *always* been worth waiting rather than use the main line, if only because I never get sent to lane 5, which frequently is all-selectee, all the time.
