Did you really need French signage? You seem to read and write in English pretty well.
However I feel you have every reason to complain about the substandard level of service and comfort on your flight. They ought to compensate more than $75. I think a $500 voucher would be more acceptable.
Suppose some of you paid top dollar for an Executive First ticket YYZ-LHR on a 747-400, and at the last minute they substituted the aircraft with a 767-200 in 2-2-2 J config. Wouldn't you expect compensation?
